According to The Second Disc, Salvo Records in the UK is going to release a 2-CD set of everything Tracey ever recorded for Stiff Records. It will be called Move Over Darling: The Complete Stiff Recordings, and it'll be released in September. I have not seen a track listing for it yet, so I don't know what all it will contain -- although with a title like The Complete Stiff Recordings, it should contain everything -- but word is that there will be an previously unreleased recording. More details as they become available. |

If you're going to be in the Charlottesville, Virginia area on the Fourth of July, you might want to visit Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, and see a number of people take the oath that will make them United States citizens. It'll be a proud day for those citizens-to-be, and rightly so. And those new citizens will receive a special treat: speaking at their naturalization ceremony will be none other than Tracey Ullman, who did in 2006 what they're doing on the 4th. Bravo to her, and bravo to them!
My plans for the July 4th week don't currently involve visiting Charlottesville, unfortunately.... |

It appears that the recently concluded third season of State of the Union will be its last. The State of Tracey blog has obtained a copy of a letter from Tracey and her husband Allan to those who worked on the series. In it, they say that after three years, "the series has run its course", and they thank everyone who served on the crew, as well as Showtime, Eagle Rock and Portman for being "very supportive." After some time off, they'll think about their next project.
Even though I am disappointed that SOTU has come to an end, I do admire the classy way in which they are bowing out. Whatever Tracey's next project is, I hope it'll be a good one.

Should Tracey host SNL? Some say yes |

A friend of mine has started a group on Facebook, 10,000 for Tracey Ullman to host Saturday Night Live. The thinking must be, "if it worked for Betty White, then it can work for Tracey as well."
This, of course, presumes that Tracey would want to host SNL. And that's far from certain, as she's complained about the male-domination attitudes that the show has historically had over the years. Then again, Tina Fey served as head writer for many years before moving on to 30 Rock, so that atmosphere may have changed enough for Tracey to reconsider.
And speaking of 30 Rock, I wouldn't mind Tracey doing a guest shot on there -- wouldn't mind it at all. |
